Theatre Morgan presents the Euripides' MEDEA
Robinson Jeffers' adaptation of Euripides' MEDEA
The Greek classic about the sorceress Medea who is exploited, deceived and abandoned along with her children by her husband, Jason. Jason has taken a new wife for economic and social standing in the city of Corinth. Medea's response to this betrayal is at once fascinating and frightening. For her own preservation and the protection of her children she summons the assistance of the goddess Hecate for justice. Though set in 431 B.C., this fantastical and mystical production is the universal and timeless story of a woman who sacrificed all for her husband, only to be betrayed. Tyler Perry's "Madea" may be "no nonsense", but Euripides' MEDEA truly proves that "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned".
