Community Cares Partner for May is WAR- Women Accepting Responsibility

The Community Cares Partner for May is (WAR) Women Accepting Responsibility. They were established in 1997 and provide wrap around services to women with children, challenged with homelessness, mental health and substance abuse issues. For over 15 years Women Accepting Responsibility has provided permanent housing for chronically homeless women and their children. They provide The Opening Doors and New Dawn Housing and support Services,
The KIP Program (Knowledge is Power) The Beautiful Me/Tran-Women and The BJs’ Women Wellness Center providing health services including blood pressure and diabetes screening, exercise and yoga classes, guided meditation, nutrition, massage and free mammograms. This is a presentation of APGFCU and WEAA-FM, the Voice of the Community

What is WEAA Community Cares?
Non-profits are proven champions in our community. The WEAA Community Cares Campaign is used to spotlight these organizations whose mission and values make a daily difference in the lives of others. Every month, WEAA partners with a non- profit organization and promotes the mission of the organization through this vignette, broadcasted several times daily on WEAA 88.9 FM

How to nominate an organization for WEAA Community Cares?
Listeners are encouraged nominate an organization that has touched lives, made an impact in their neighborhoods and considered a champion in the Baltimore and/or surrounding communities. Nominations should include a brief essay discussing their value, mission, and how they’re making a difference. Nominations can be mailed to:
