Caribbean News Update
Saturday, 6:05pm

The Caribbean News Update on WEAA FM with Sheldon Peter and Denise Stanley every Saturday at 6 p.m. is a well balanced account of news an objective discussion of issues and events from home and abroad.

From disasters to economics and trade, from cross-regional politics to sports and entertainment and who’s who in the news – Caribbean nationals in the Baltimore metropolitan area depend on the Caribbean News Update, as their source for news from home.

Over the years, the many producers past and present: D. Carmelite Coombs, Neil Mattei, Claudette Lindsay, Yvette Lawrence-Hood and Donna Powell have made an impact on a growing audience from the Caribbean Diaspora worldwide, because of their broadcast professionalism, their independent viewpoint and knowledge of the region. To date, no other radio programs, commercial or otherwise, is able to give a round-up of Caribbean news and events in the state of Maryland like the Caribbean News Update. A challenge for many, since each island is unique in its own way, reporter in this area cannot fully comprehend the complexity of the more than 7000 islands that comprised the Caribbean.

When it comes to planning a getaway or learning some Caribbean history, with a European twist – the Caribbean News update should be vital to you!
