December Community Cares: The Walters Art Museum

The Community Cares partner for December is the Walters Art Museum, located in downtown Baltimore’s historic Mount Vernon Cultural District at North Charles and Centre.

At the time of his death in 1931, founder Henry Walters left his entire collection of art to the city of Baltimore. The collection includes ancient art, medieval art and manuscripts, decorative objects, Asian art, and Old Master and 19th century paintings.

People can take a break from shopping and warm up at the Walters Art Museum this holiday season with a variety of free events for everyone.

From December 28th to December 30th, you can join in winter break art activities such as making snowflakes, rubber band prints, and dream catchers. You can also enjoy A Christmas Story in Art.

The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday 10am-5pm, and Thursday 10am-9pm. Admission to the Walters collection is free.
