IRB meets Tuesday, is final report on BPD detective's death completed?

A lot of attention will be focused on a conference call this morning… of the independent review board looking into the death of Baltimore Detective Sean Suiter. At its last meeting in June, the panel signaled its hope to have a final report ready by today---the end of July.  Detective suiter died from a gunshot wound to his head. The fatal shot coming from his own gun.

The shooting happened as Suiter and another detective were canvassing the Harlem Park neighborhood in west Baltimore investigating a homicide.  The independent review board was authorized by former Commissioner Darryl De Sousa after months of stalled in house investigation and the FBI turned down a request to look in the case and no arrests made.

Suiter was shot one day before he was to testify in a federal police corruption trial about the now disbanded Gun Trace Task Force.
