Patterson Park Revolutionary War monument vandalized

City police are searching for the suspect who vandalized a Revolutionary War monument in Patterson Park with the words "white lies."

David Carter with Recreation and Parks says the city is working with the Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation to remove the graffiti found on the Pulaski Monument on Thursday. Preservationists say removing the paint from the historic statue will not be easy because they have to ensure the monument isn't damaged in the process.  The bronze monument depicts Revolutionary War General Casimir Pulaski's 1779 charge against the British in Savannah, Georgia.  Last June a statue honoring the Star Spangled Banner was damaged by red spray paint with the words "racist anthem" painted on the sidewalk.
