Another Violent Weekend in Baltimore, over a dozen shootings, 4 dead

Officials say, despite this being a ceasefire weekend in Baltimore, there were over a dozen shootings that have happened since Friday.  As of Sunday morning, there were four murders and 13 total shootings.

Mayor Jack Young signed the Elijah Cummings Healing City act into law yesterday, which was inspired by the growing violence in Baltimore.  The bill will create a citywide taskforce for ways to reduce trauma for children.  It will require agencies to examine their policies on how to reduce retraumatization.

Meanwhile, Baltimore Police have identified recent homicide victims—including those from this weekend:

31- year old Jermelle Rames (February 3)

24- year old Sean Holt Grindon Avenue (February 5)

Three of the four homicide victims from this weekend’s deadly gun violence in Baltimore City are identified as 31- year old Khaled Heeba (West Franklin Street ), 40 year old Davon Evans (Friday, West Lanvale Street) and 31-year old Keith Thomas was killed from a shooting on Sunday at 900 Coppin Court . These murder investigations remain open. Anyone with information is asked to call baltimore police or metro crime stoppers at 1-866-7lockup.
