Maryland sees largest yet in single day confirmed coronavirus cases

Governor Larry Hogan tweeted the State of Maryland now has 580 confirmed cases of #COVID19—an increase of 157 new cases. There are more than 1,200 confirmed cases in the National Capital Region—in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia.

At a news conference Wednesday, Hogan said there are Covid-19 cases in 22 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions. Allegany and Dorchester are the only remaining Maryland counties without a reported coronavirus case. More than 42,000 unemployment insurance claims were filed in Maryland last week.

“If we all do our part to rise to this challenge and to meet this moment, we will get through this together,” said Hogan. “If we all do our part to rise to this challenge and to meet this moment, we will get through this together.”

As of today, on the state’s Covid-19 website, officials have begun adding  to their updates the number of Covid-19 patients who remain hospitalized and those released from isolation.
