Governor Larry Hogan issued a statement on social media saying Maryland had seen another dramatic increase in COVID-19 cases overnight. “We now have more than 1,900 cases in the National Capital Region,” said Hogan.
Also Saturday, the Department of Recreation and Parks announced the removal of basketball rims and tennis court nets from City parks, in an effort to encourage residents to practice social distancing.
The Baltimore City Fire Department Friday announced it would temporarily suspend operations at the Fire Station in the 400 block of McMechen Street as a precaution, in the wake of learning employees may have been exposed to an EMS provider who received a positive test result Thursday.
Once the department was made aware of the positive COVID-19 result by the provider at the station, steps were immediately taken to reduce both members and the community’s exposure. Members of the station who were exposed are self-quarantining.

Parks, trails, and open space remain accessible, but park users are advised to remain at least 6 feet apart at all times.

Dog Parks (Canton, Latrobe, Howard Street are limited to 5 people at a time, Patterson Park is limited to 10 people at a time)
