BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) — As of Tuesday morning, Maryland health officials report 611 patients are currently hospitalized due to complications from the coronavirus. An increase of 35 patients since Monday morning.

Data shows 851 positive cases have been added within 24 hours with three more COVID-related deaths recorded.

Maryland’s positivity rate has increased to 4.83%.

State health officials are pushing more Marylanders to get vaccinated against the virus as many states continue to see a rise in infections attributed to the “highly contagious” Delta variant.

According to the Maryland Department of Health’s website, 79.4% of Maryland adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
