(WEAA)— Our very own Morgan State University broke ground Thursday morning on the new Health and Human Services Building.

The $171 million construction will house state-of-the-art classrooms, labs and meeting spaces, ushering in new era of innovation and community engagement.

The building will also house the School of Community Health and Policy, the School of Social Work, the Center for Urban Health and Equity, and the University Counseling Center.

This new facility is part of a $600 million dollar renovation project happening across Morgan State's campus. This construction is expected to be complete in 2024.

Morgan State President Dr. David Wilson explains the reason for the construction.

Dr. Kim Dobson Sydnor, Dean, School of Community Health and Policy and Dr. Ana McPhatter, Dean, School of Social Work join Two Way Talk to share what the expansion means for the HBCU.
