(WEAA)— According to state health officials, Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate has dropped below 3% for the first time since early November.
“Since peaking last month just below 30%, Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate has declined by 90.2%”, Governor Larry Hogan’s office shared in a media release.
The state is reporting the fourth lowest positivity rate in the nation.
According to the state’s coronavirus dashboard, 383 new cases have been reported since Monday morning. Governor Hogan says Maryland’s case rate has declined by 94.9% since the Omicron peak.
Currently, 540 patients are hospitalized due to complications from the virus and COVID-19 ICU levels statewide have dropped to their lowest level since Aug. 10, 2021.
