(Baltimore, MD) -- Change is coming to Baltimore's celebration of Martin Luther King Day.
A day of service will be held in lieu of the Martin Luther King Day parade.

The Baltimore Office of Promotion and The Arts announced the changes on Thursday.
The parade has not been held since 2020 due to COVID
The office said the decision to cancel the parade and move to a day of service was a conscious decision to mark the King holiday with service rather than a parade.
Residents are asked to participate in the National Day of Service on January 16th to celebrate Dr. King's legacy.
