(Baltimore, MD) -- City Councilman Zeke Cohen wants an investigation into the uptick in car thefts in Baltimore.
During Monday night's City Council meeting, Cohen plans to introduce a resolution calling on city and state agencies to examine what's leading to the increase and how to address the issue.
Citing police department data, Cohen says there have been more than 6,200 auto thefts in Baltimore through mid-August.
He says that's an average of 27 stolen vehicles per-day, and a 225 percent increase over last year.
