(Baltimore, MD) -- Baltimore City's new solicitor has officially been sworn into office.
Ebony Thompson is a graduate of Brown University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, and the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Mayor Brandon Scott administered the oath of office to Thompson on Monday, making her the first woman to hold the position and the first openly gay solicitor to serve.

Thompson had been the interim solicitor since Jim Shea retired a year ago.
