(Baltimore, MD) -- Hundreds of homes across Baltimore are now equipped with smoke alarms, thanks to the efforts of Red Cross volunteers and the Baltimore City Fire Department.
Saturday, smoke detectors were distributed at Pimlico Racecourse and the Biddle Street Garage.
Volunteers checked to make sure the smoke detectors were equipped with fresh batteries and they also helped develop plans to enable everyone inside a home is able to escape within minutes.
