Heat Advisory Issued for Parts of Maryland

(Sterling, VA) -- Much of Maryland is preparing for dangerously hot conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Washington and central and eastern Allegany counties from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

The feels-like temperatures are expected to be around 100 degrees.

Forecasters say it's important to drink plenty of fluids, stay indoors in the air-conditioning and check up on vulnerable relatives and neighbors.

Folks should also take extra precautions when venturing outside.

Scorching temperatures and high humidity are also expected later this week throughout Central and Western Maryland.
