Capital Gazette

At approximately 7 p.m. Saturday night a shooting occurred at Morgan State University near the Montebello Complex on south campus. A Morgan student was reported injured with non-life-threatening injuries and taken to a local hospital for immediate treatment.

The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) is presently on site actively investigating the incident with assistance from Morgan State Police.

As of this communication, the area around Montebello Complex is secure and there is no active threat to the campus. We encourage the Campus Community to stay clear of the area at this time as police activity is ongoing.

When further details develop and more information becomes available, we will provide updates via MSU ALERT, MSU Announce and social media.

Our dedicated staff from the Division of Student Affairs, the University Counseling Center and Residence Life have been activated and are available to provide support to any Morgan student in need. Counseling and support services are available by calling 800-422-0009 or 443-885-3130.
