Cheryl Goodman

Cheryl T. Goodman is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional and Creative Writing/Verbal and Visual Communications. Ms. Goodman’s work experience in marketing, community outreach and event production includes years of service on the local, state and national levels. She has programmed and produced festivals, music and dance concerts, art exhibits and a variety of community activities throughout the east coast for over thirty years with international artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Roy Ayers, Herbie Hancock, Sweet Honey in the Rock, Maysa, Cyrus Chestnut, to name a few. For five years, she served as an on air panelist on the Black Entertainment Television (BET) program, Jazz Discovery acknowledging new jazz talent from around the country. Ms. Goodman has been a management consultant for arts organizations such as WEAA FM, The Hippodrome Foundation, Eubie Blake Cultural Center and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. In 2003, Ms. Goodman founded Dance Baltimore, a nonprofit organization designed to enhance the role of dance in the Baltimore metropolitan area. She is a published writer with feature articles in magazines such as JazzTimes, DownBeat, Dance Magazine, Dance Teacher and NAACP’s Crisis and more.
