Balt. City Schools report positive COVID-19 results; Pro-slavery assignment at NC elementary school

BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) — Baltimore City Schools is reporting 13 positive COVID-19 results following pooled testing on staff and students.

City school officials released a statement on Monday in regard to the test results, " As part of our safety protocols to prevent COVID spread, City Schools proactively conducts weekly asymptomatic pooled testing on staff and students that informs us if there is an individual in a learning pod that is positive.

Last week the district conducted 253 pooled tests on approximately 3,290 people. This yielded 13 positive results. This does not mean every student in a pod has COVID-19. Rather, it is most likely that a single person in the pool had COVID. If there is one person in each positive pool with COVID, that would result in a positivity rate of about .5%."
