City Police are investigating at least 3 shooting, one them resulting in a homicide over the Baltimore Cease Fire/Mother’s Day weekend.
Investigators say around 4:25 p.m. Sunday, Northeast District patrol officers responded to the 1400 block of East Cold Spring Lane for a report of a shooting. Once at the location, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in the 1400 block of East Cold Spring Lane when he was approached by an unidentified suspect. The suspect pulled a gun and began shooting at the victim. In his attempt to get away from the shooter, police say the victim attempted to get away from the gunman and ran into a business, where he collapsed. Eastern District patrol officers responded Saturday morning to the 900 block of East Eager Street around 11:45 for a report of a shooting. Once at there, they found a 33 -year-old man with gunshot wounds to his legs. He was transported to an area hospital where he was last listed in stable condition. Just after midnight Saturday, around 12:25 a.m. 12:25 a.m., Investigators say patrol officers responded to the 600 Block of North Gilmore Street for a report of a shooting. Once there, officers located a 29-year old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition. Baltimore Cease Fire is a city-wide call asking Baltimore residents to avoid having any murders through quarterly Ceasefires and Peace Challenges (Feb, May, August, and Nov). Their mantra is “Nobody kill anybody” during the quarterly events. The movement began in August 2017. During that first Cease Fire weekend, for a total of 67 out of 72 hours, no murders were recorded in Baltimore City.
Throughout the year, the movement serves as a hub for organizations and citizens to support one another, work together, and share resources, to see an end to murder in Baltimore City.
