Coronavirus latest| More than 4,900 deaths reported in Maryland

(BALTIMORE, MD) More people are dying from COVID-19 in Maryland. 

Data shows, 24 deaths have been added in the past 24 hours, bringing the state's total of coronavirus-related deaths to 4,978.

As of Monday morning, the Maryland Department of Health says a total 236,961 positive cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the state. 

Officials say 2,314 positive cases have been added since Sunday morning. 

Currently, 1,742 people are hospitalized due to the virus. An increase of 63 patients since Sunday morning. 

Governor Larry Hogan's latest coronavirus briefing was held Thursday afternoon.
