COVID-19 Latest: Maryland reports lowest positivity rate

BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) —Maryland is reporting its lowest COVID-19 positivity rate for a second day in a row.

According to state health officials, Maryland’s positivity rate is 2.19%.

On Tuesday, records indicated two-thirds of Maryland adults received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Each and every one of these milestones is a credit to Marylanders, especially those who have stepped up to get the vaccine,” said Governor Hogan said. “Together, we can make sure no arm is left behind, and finally bring this pandemic to an end.”

Hospitalizations are also down. Currently, 585 patients are hospitalized due to COVID-19 complications.

Data shows 339 new coronavirus cases and 12 virus-related deaths have been added since Tuesday morning.
