BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) — Morgan State University student journalist Oyin Adedoyin joins Farajii Muhammad to share the power of a HBCU student-run newspaper and how students are using the platform to shed light on racial and health disparities in Baltimore.
Oyin, who is also the editor in chief of The MSU Spokesman, believes it is important for Historically Black Colleges and Universities to report on and share stories that impact the Black community.
“We are in tune to different things, we are more sensitive to things and we have a deeper awareness, I think and so we can relate", Oyin shares.
The multimedia journalism major also believes student newspapers can bridge the communication gap between students and university administrators.
