Kenya Capehart: Strategic Communication

Kenya Capehart was born and raised in the city that never sleeps, Miami,Florida.

Currently, in her junior year at the illustrious Morgan State University, where she majors in strategic communication with a focus in public relations, she also serves as Campus Events Chair of F.U.T.U.R.E (Females United To Uplift Reshape & Educate) for the 2021-2022 academic year.

The aspiring journalist is also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.

As a volunteer at WEAA 88.9 FM, Kenya plans to expand her skills and interests that include her love for music, graphic design, and production editing.

Kenya also has a passion for giving back to the community. She has been fortunate enough to assist with Miami’s non profit organization, ‘Brown Girls’ with their annual Turkey Drive during Thanksgiving break in 2020.

Motivated by the ones who support her, she stands on the motto “walk by faith and not by sight”.

Upon Kenya’s departure from Morgan State University she hopes to have a non profit organization of her own to continue to give back to less fortunate Black high-schooler who would like to pursue a college education with a program that focuses on college prep.
