BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) — For the first time since March 2020, the Maryland Department of Health is reporting less than 200 new coronavirus cases within 24 hours.
State health officials say 160 positive cases have been added since Monday morning.
Maryland’s positivity rate is 1.98%. This is the first time the positivity rate has fallen below 2% during the pandemic.

Virus-related hospitalizations also continue to decline. Officials say 442 patients are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19, the lowest level since October.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 68.3% of adults in Maryland have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine,
