The Stories We Tell: Baltimore Visionaries -Episode 3- The Pursuit of Justice

BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) —  Morgan State University's School of Global Journalism & Communication's Baltimore Reporting Report presents The Stories We Tell: Baltimore Visionaries.

In this episode, host Dr. Kaye Wise Whitehead is joined by Billy Murphy, an attorney and founding partner of Murphy, Falcon & Murphy.

One of Judge Murphy’s most notable victories —which became a legendary case in sports history— was when he represented boxing promoter Don King, who faced wire fraud charges.

Judge Murphy was able to get all nine counts dismissed.

His father, William Murphy, Sr., was one of the first African American judges to preside in Baltimore, as well as the state of Maryland.

Judge Billy Murphy has a 90% success rate in state court cases.
