The Baltimore Blend features pianist Dawoud Said.

Dawoud Said has been playing piano from the time he entered elementary school. He received formal training in jazz and classical piano and attended the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Said began performing professionally as a teenager at the age of 15 and since that time, he has played with a host of artists including Walter Beasley, Marion Meadows, Angela Bofill, Najee, Roy Ayers, John Scofield, Kenny Lattimore, Michael Henderson, MeShellIndegeocello, The Graingers, Stacey Lattisaw, Marcus Johnson, Guilty Pleasures, and Mycah Chevalier.

Although a formally trained pianist, Said has expanded his musical talents and is also a skilled saxophonist and bass player. His latest release, “Mainstream”, features Said playing all of the instruments. This recording demonstrates Said's alluring style that gradually captivates listeners and his distinct voicing and technique that opens minds to all the subtle colors and emotion music has to offer.
