Hello everyone! My name is Kenya Chase-Mercer, a junior multiplatform production major from Baltimore, MD.
I am so excited to be volunteering at WEAA 88.9 FM with Ms. Mykel Hunter as it has always been a dream of mine to be on the radio.
Growing up, I have loved being in front of the camera and that has led me to being an aspiring film actress and director.
Throughout middle and high school I worked in theater production and stage acting. I was also a founding member of my high school’s elite singing group, The Black Notes.
Furthermore, I was a head of our dance department as I have been dancing for about 18 years now!

As a lover of the arts, I often find myself dabbling in various forms of art as a way to express myself. I am an avid dancer, painter, singer, actress, and poet. In the future I hope to be able to incorporate all of these art forms into my daily work.
While working here at WEAA, I hope to gain on air and production experience from people who know the ins and outs of the industry!
