ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WEAA) — During a special session on redistricting, the Maryland General Assembly voted to override Governor Larry Hogan's veto of Maryland's congressional map.

Hogan said the veto override of the map is just the beginning, because "the courts will be the final arbiter, not the partisan legislature".

Currently, Democrats hold a 7-1 advantage over Republicans in the state's U.S. House delegation.

The proposed map would likely maintain that advantage and potentially enable Democrats to go 8-0.

State Senator Jill P. Carter joins Two Way Talk to discuss the special session.
