(WEAA)— On Tuesday, the Westminster Police Department and communities members gathered for a candlelight vigil at Dutterer’s Park to honor the lives lost in a school shooting in Ulvade, Texas.

“The police department is a huge part of the community. And we just want to show how united we are with that community after the unspeakable tragedy that they’re going through,” said Deputy Chief Rich Gibson.

“It’s just unspeakable. And these children, they’re not going to experience, you know, proms, and little league baseball, and the their first recital, marriage and having children of their own. It’s just, it’s tragic and the lives lost is just senseless,” Gibson added.
