(Baltimore, MD) -- There is a new name for a portion of Lyndhurst Street in west Baltimore.
The community turned out over the weekend for a renaming ceremony changing the name of the street to Elijah Cummings Way in honor of the late U.S. Congressman.
A number of city, state and federal government officials joined neighbors in the 600 block of Lyndhurst this weekend for the official renaming ceremony.
Cummings represented Baltimore in Congress for more than two decades and before that served as a state lawmaker. Congressman Cummings died in 2019.
At the time of his death, Cummings was the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform.
