(WEAA) On Wednesday, Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States of America at the U.S. Capitol.

Vice President Kamala Harris broke barriers, becoming the first female vice president as well as the first Black woman and first person of South Asian descent to hold the position.

Amanda Gorman also made history as the youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history. The 22-year-old's powerful poem inspired many as she referenced Biblical scripture and at times echoed the oratory of John F. Kennedy and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr..
