(WEAA)— September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month
On Wednesday, Morgan State University students and staff teamed up with the American Red Cross to spread awareness for sickle cell disease by hosting a campus-wide blood drive.
1 in every 13 African Americans are born with the sickle cell trait and 1 in every 365 African Americans are born with the actual disease.
