(Baltimore, MD) -- City officials continue to watch the homicide rate in Baltimore rise.
As of Monday, there were 166 people who had been shot and killed so far this year, marking a five-percent jump in the murder rate in Baltimore compared to the same time period last year.
Baltimore Police are also reporting 317 non-fatal shootings in the city so far in 2022 compared to the same time period last year.
That marks a nearly two-percent jump of non-fatal shootings in Baltimore compared to the same time period in 2021.
