(Baltimore, MD) -- Thanks to a $2 million grant, the University of Maryland is launching a crime prevention initiative.
The school has announced the Center for Violence Prevention to help reduce and respond to violence across Baltimore City.
The program is in partnership with Shock Trauma, the University of Maryland, and Medical Schools, along with the School of Social Work.
According to the university, the program will create an interdisciplinary approach to violence prevention and intervention, combining the expertise and clinic work of the various partners involved.
