Bowie State cancels classes for week

(Bowie, MD) -- Classes are being canceled for the rest of the week at Bowie State University following the weekend shooting that left two teenagers wounded.

BSU officials announced on Tuesday classes will not be held so as to provide time for "everyone to address their mental well-being."

Saturday night's shooting happened at the end of homecoming week festivities at Maryland's oldest historically Black university.

It occurred less than a week after gunfire left five people injured at a homecoming event at Morgan State University, another HBCU in Baltimore.

Police have not made any arrests in either shooting.
