Maryland honors those killed in 2023 work zone accident

(Baltimore, MD) -- During the kickoff to National Work Zone Awareness Week, Maryland transportation officials honored the six workers killed last year at a construction site in Baltimore.

The ceremony was held yesterday at the site along Interstate 695.

They also remembered a construction worker killed in December as well as the six roadway workers killed last month in the collapse of the Key Bridge.

Yesterday's ceremony featured a Unity Ride around the I-695 Beltway by more than 200 transportation vehicles.
