(Baltimore, MD) -- A boil-water advisory continues for residents in west Baltimore.
We are aware of E.Coli samples present in the water supply for parts of West Baltimore and are working with @BaltimoreDPW to resolve this issue. The advisory comes after the Department of Public Works detected E. coli contaminants in water samples taken during routine water testing last Friday.
According to the DPW, water was sampled in several locations and positive test results were discovered.
Officials continue to search for the source of the contamination and are targeting construction projects that may have contributed to the problem.
In the meantime, residents and businesses in the Sandtown-Winchester and Harlem Park neighborhoods in west Baltimore are being encouraged to boil their water for a minute before use.
The DPW says the water supply is being treated with chlorine to kill the bacteria.
No illnesses have been reported as a result of the problem.
