(Baltimore, MD) -- The CIAA women's basketball tournament kicked off at CFG Bank Arena last night with a dramatic 64-to-61 win by the Winston-Salem State women's basketball team over Bowie State.
The Rams, the seventh seed in the Southern Division, face third-seeded Johnson C. Smith this afternoon.
Meanwhile, in the men's basketball tournament, Bluefield State came from behind to topple St. Augustine's, 50-to-48.
The sixth-seeded Big Blue face second-seeded Winston-Salem State tomorrow morning.
The tournament is expected to pump more than $30 million into the Baltimore economy.
