(WEAA)—A  man is in custody after claiming to have a bomb in a pickup truck he drove onto the sidewalk outside the Library of Congress Thursday morning.

After an hourslong standoff, and live streaming the threat, 49-year-old Floyd Ray Roseberry of North Carolina surrendered to police.

Police say they did not find a bomb in the vehicle but possible bomb-making materials were collected from it.

Dr. Kaye weighs in on the incident, discusses post traumatic plantation owner syndrome and reflects on a Miriam Carey, a Black woman who was shot multiple times by law enforcement after making a u-turn near the Capitol.
