Maryland reports 288 new COVID cases Friday, hospitalizations increase

BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) — Positive coronavirus cases are on the rise in Maryland once again. 

 

As of 10 a.m. Friday, state health officials report 288 new coronavirus cases have been added since Thursday morning. 

 

Currently, 163 patients are hospitalized due to complications from the virus, an increase of 11 patients since Thursday morning. 

Three more virus-related deaths have been reported. The state’s COVID-19 data dashboard shows a total of 9,582 deaths.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 76.5% of Maryland adults have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 

 

Maryland’s positivity rate is 1.81%.
