WEAA is on the lookout for talented artists to feature on our social media platforms in honor of the 2024 Black History Month theme: African Americans and the Arts.
Whether you’re a poet, musician, visual artist, or dancer, WEAA wants to spotlight your creativity. Join us in celebrating Black excellence and the incredible influence it has on the Arts!
By submitting a video, an artist will be randomly chosen to have the opportunity to appear on air on February 29, 2024.
Video Requirements and Guidelines
- Introduce yourself: name, age, and where you are from.
- Include the type of artist you are: musician, visual artist, dancer, etc.
- Express your passion for your art. Share what motivates and inspires you to create.
- Tell us who or what has influenced your art.
- Be energetic and engaging!
- Ensure the video is of good quality, both in terms of audio and video. Choose a quiet room with good lighting to record.
- Please keep the video short, ideally under 60 seconds.
In addition to your video submission, attach visual elements to showcase your art. You may include snippets of your artwork, short clips of performances, or a visual representation of your creative process.
Make sure your videos/images do not contain inappropriate language, images, or sounds.
Selected artists will be featured in individual reels —with content provided—on WEAA’s Facebook and Instagram accounts throughout the month of February.
Please include your age, city, and state in the email. Also provide the type of artist you are, and social media handles.
