Selecta Jammy

Selecta Jammy has always been intrigued by the unity that music brings. He considers music to be “the voice of the times”.

His passion for music started at an early age.

As a young teenager in Kingston, Jamaica, he was taken to Channel One, a recording studio, where his fascination for the music industry expanded.

Being exposed to the creation and development of music, before it was shared over airwaves, gave him a new appreciation for songs. 

Upon moving to Brooklyn, New York in the mid 1980s, he collaborated with school friends and ran a medium sized sound system, where he was the primary DJ.

 There were times during that period where he traveled back and forth between Baltimore and New York to perform on weekends.

Due to family obligations he took a break from the music industry for a few years. In the early 2000s he started playing for various internet and FM radio stations. 

Selecta Jammy has been on the airwaves ever since.
