Marylanders urged to prepare for busy hurricane season

(Reisterstown, MD) -- Hurricane season is underway, and the Maryland Department of Emergency Management is urging residents to begin their preparedness efforts now.

MDEM Secretary Russ Strickland says the NOAA hurricane forecast is calling for a very active season and in Maryland high winds, storm surge, tidal and inland flooding can be deadly.
