A surge of over 14,000 new patrons have registered for library cards since the unveiling of the Jay-Z exhibit at the Brooklyn Public Library in July.
“The Book of Hov” is a limited edition two story display in the mogul's hometown that features audio, never before seen photos and archives highlighting the journey and legacy of his life. His lyrics from several songs are written on the front of the library causing major attraction.

As part of the exhibit, the library is offering limited edition library cards that feature cover art from the rapper's solo albums.
“New Yorkers can collect all 13 versions – but only one will be activated to a Brooklyn Public library account to check out resources,” according to a library spokesperson.
Since the opening of The Book of HOV, the library reported they have experienced about five times their average visitors.

Several branches have also reported a surge in checked out materials.
“The community’s enormous response to this exhibition is a testament to JAY-Z’s incredible impact,” said Linda E. Johnson, President and CEO, Brooklyn Public Library in a press release. “We are thrilled to welcome hundreds of new patrons who are inspired by his life and career and, through the exhibit, are discovering all that the library has to offer- from storytimes and robotics programs to entrepreneurship workshops and a vinyl record collection. Brooklyn Public Library has something for every New Yorker, at every stage of life."
