Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler would not give specific numbers, but early reports said five people were shot and three people are dead in the shooting at the RiteAid distribution center, located in a busy business park.
Aberdeen is located just outside Baltimore. At a separate News Conference, Dr. Raymond Fang, Trauma Director at Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital said there were four victims from the Aberdeen shooting being treated there. However, Fang would not confirm the conditions or the identities of the victims. He did not speak to whether there were any fatalities. Fang did confirm that some of the victims needed surgery. “To us, their all patients,” said Fang. ‘Until we have a chance to talk with their family members first, I think it’s best for their families to learn [the patients] conditions first from us rather than through [the media].”
The Emergency Operations Center is partially activated due to the situation in Perryman, which remains fluid at this time. Citizens should continue to avoid the area. The Harford County Information Hotline in the EOC (410-838-5800) has been activated for family and loved ones
