U.S. Marshals deputy shot while serving arrest warrant in Baltimore, suspect killed

BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) -- United States Marshals confirm a deputy was shot Thursday morning while serving an arrest warrant in Baltimore City. 

 

The shooting occurred around 6:45 a.m. on North Mount Street near Presstman Street. 

 

According to police, the suspect was wanted for armed robbery and attempted murder. 

 

Officials say, while serving the warrant, deputies received gunfire from the fugitive. 

 

During the exchange of gunfire, the deputy was struck and the supect was killed, according to police. 

 

The deputy was taken to Shock Trauma with serious injuries. 

 

The U.S. Marshals tweeted, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the deputy and his family during this tragic time”.
