BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) — Maryland’s coronavirus metrics continue trending in the right direction.
The Maryland Department of Health announced Thursday, 66 new coronavirus cases have been added since Wednesday morning.
The state’s positivity rate is at 0.6%, a record low.
On Wednesday, Governor Larry Hogan said Maryland’s COVID-19 cases rate has dropped below 1 per 100K, putting the state in the federal green zone.
“Maryland is one of only three states nationwide reporting case rates under 1 per 100K—the other two are Vermont and South Dakota,” Gov. Hogan’s office confirmed in a media release.
According to health officials, seven more virus-related deaths have been added since Wednesday morning.
Currently, 119 patients are hospitalized due to complications from the coronavirus.

The statewide positivity rate is now 0.6%.

The state’s vaccination dashboard shows 73.4% of Marylanders 18 and over have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
