Back To Class: Baltimore City Schools and student performance

BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) —While Baltimore City students are back in classrooms, concerns surrounding academic performance and accountability continue to linger.

According to a report by FOX45 Investigative Reporter Chris Papst, nearly half of high school students in City Schools earned below a 1.0 grade point average during the last school year and 57% of elementary and middle schoolers had one or more failing grades.

Despite the low performance, the school system promoted every student.

Chris Papst joins Two Way Talk to discuss the reopening of Baltimore City Public Schools, the education system, accountability and transparency.
